Partners Choice Insurors and MAX Contribute to Project 360 Youth Services’ Sound House

(LEBANON, MO) – The Sound House’s wish list just got a little bit smaller thanks to a recent grant from Partners Choice Insurors LLC in Lebanon, MO and their partner, MutualAid eXchange (“MAX”) Insurance.  Some of the Sound House’s current needs fulfilled were food items for their pantry and clothing to supply their clothes closet.

Stephen Griffin heads Partners Choice Insurors LLC.  He reached out to Project 360 Youth Services after learning about the MAX Agent Community Grant Program.  “Our agency has contributed to Project 360 Youth Services in different parts of the year,” Griffin said.  “The Sound House, a teen resource drop in center for area youth ages 13-20, offers social and academic programs and services without judgement.  We as a community are fortunate to have such a wonderful teen outreach center and are pleased to partner with MAX Insurance® and its community grant program to make this gift possible.”

MAX Mindfulness: Our Thoughts Create Our Experience

By Dave Wine

Each of us has exactly the same number of hours in a day – no exceptions!   All of us are busy – no exceptions!   All of us have challenges, upsets, appointments, work, family, and a myriad of ongoing tasks to complete – no exceptions!   Then you throw in life’s “surprises” – illness, emergencies, car breakdowns, home repairs- and sometimes it really feels as if life is pressing on you from all sides.   Remember, we all face these issues in our life –no exceptions.  You may feel you are unique in this but I can assure you no one escapes. Some of us may have to deal with more of one thing over the other but just being human, we are tasked with many challenges.

But here’s the thing.  We can choose how we are going to react to life and life’s challenges.  It is never the “thing” or the “situation” that bothers us or upsets us.  Read that again!   It is our THOUGHTS ABOUT the thing or situation that affect us.  This is so important in our work lives.  It is easy to think that our work loads, our tasks, our situations and contexts, etc. are the cause of our feelings.  Not true.  It is our thoughts that go along with those situations that cause our feelings, not the other way around.  This is one of the hardest yet most valuable lessons we can ever learn!   That is why some people seem to live life more effortless than others.  They have learned to control their thoughts – mindfulness – and simply allow life to flow through them rather than fighting against the currents of life!

So it is not our “to do” lists, or our tasks, or the amount of work we have to do, or the situations we find ourselves in that are really the cause of our feelings.  It is our thoughts about all of that which create either angst or acceptance, either upset or allowance, either fear or love, either panic or calm.   St. Francis of Assisi found God in peeling potatoes!  Why?  Because as he wrote it was the best time to think with God.  The mundane task, that most of us would complain about, became holy simply because of his thoughts.  We can make any part of our lives holy in the same way.  We literally control life through our thoughts.   We are that powerful.

Robert K. Miller Insurance Agency and MAX Insurance® Contribute to Special Horseman Connection

(WESTON, OH) – Horses can be loved by all, but there is a special connection between a horse and a person with special needs that just cannot be matched.  Here in the Weston community, the Special Horseman Connection provides hippotherapy, competitive showing, equine assisted activities and adapted riding for persons with special needs, regardless if families can pay for it.  Thanks to a matching grant from Robert K. Being Prepared for the “What If”

Who wants to think about the “what if” moments when it comes to your home?  What if my house burned down?  What if a tree fell on my home?  What if my documents were destroyed in a fire?  What if my home has water damage and I can no longer stay in it?  None of us want to think about these types of events happening to our homes, but it can happen.

One way to prepare for a “what if” is to prepare a home inventory.  What’s a home inventory?  It’s a list of all the items and belongings in your home.  For if that “what if” moment happened, you would have a list of everything that is damaged or destroyed, making that devastating, unexpected loss a little easier to handle.

Did you know you can even create a home inventory electronically?  Check out HomeZada’s free home inventory app.  Take unlimited photos of the rooms in your home and items in them, plus your garage and outdoor living space with the app.  If the “what if” happened, you can have all the information of your home inventory in the HomeZada app and be able to access it with an internet connection.  Get started on your home inventory today!
