MAX Insurance and Luster Insurance Group Provide Grant for Zion Lutheran Community Activity Center

(BOONVILLE, MO) – Luster Insurance of Boonville teamed with its partner insurance provider, MutualAid eXchange (“MAX”), in announcing a grant for Zion Lutheran Church and School to support the new Activity Center in Lone Elm.

“We are pleased and proud to partner with MAX in our agency and in this community grant,” said Terry and Sheryl Luster. “MAX is more than an insurance company. MAX Team Packed Boxes for Harvesters Holiday Fixin’s

The MAX team partnered with the KU Campus Christians house to participate in the Harvesters Holiday Fixin’s event again this year! With the assistance of MAX staff, MAX’s Mutual Aid Ministries contributions, and a few generous outside donations, we were able to pack up 99 boxes to provide a meal to families in need for the upcoming Christmas holiday. Everyone had a great time donating, collecting, and packing the boxes. We are thrilled to be a part of this great event. Harvesters Community Food Network is a wonderful non-profit organization that provides food and household items to more than 620 non-profit agencies within a 26-county area of Northwestern Missouri and Northeastern Kansas.

Area Church Kitchen Receives Grant from Midwest Insurance Professionals and MAX Insurance

(CONNERSVILLE, IN) — People struggling with addiction and other challenges know they can find a nourishing meal at the Liberty Indiana Church of the Nazarene. Now, a grant from an area insurance agency will help the church continue this meaningful outreach program.

Midwest Insurance Professionals of Connersville, IN and their partner insurance provider, MutualAid eXchange (“MAX”) recently made a grant to the church’s Kitchen Food Fund. “Liberty Nazarene Church is a blessing to the community and those in need,” said Mike Hawkins of Midwest Insurance. “We are pleased to help it acquire some new kitchen equipment to better serve those people in need.”

Hawkins requested the funds through the Mutual Aid Ministries program at MAX Insurance of Overland Park, KS. MAX is a unique fair, faithful and socially responsible insurance enterprise. MAX Mindfulness: The Past is Not Here Now!

One of the great benefits of using mindfulness is to release ourselves of the past. When we live mindlessly, so many of our thoughts, perceptions and reflections are rooted in our past. The past is gone and we only have the present moment. The future is not yet here. Mindfulness helps us stay rooted in our present rather than being sabotaged by our mind’s propensity to find blame and regrets in the past. Watch your mind and just see how often this occurs for you. Some examples that you might consider:

Many of our judgments on people we meet now are rooted in past relationships. He/She reminds me of ______. He/She is just like so and so. She/He looks like ______. They remind me of _________. Etc. We seldom meet anyone new without making some type of comparison with someone in our past. It takes mindful effort to center only on this person now!
A painful incident or event in the past continues to affect our present (and therefore our future). We might have been hurt or rejected at some point in our past. That event, if we are not mindful, can continue to affect us now through our perceptions and mistrust of the present – people and events. Yet the past has no ability to do that unless we allow it to. It is mindfully up to us.
We perceive a current person or situation as “just like that past _______”. It is doubtful a present person or situation is ‘just like the past’ and our context of putting that past into our present is unfair to any current situation or person.
We are moving through our day just fine when suddenly we realize we are depressed or disturbed in some way. Why? Looking closely we realize a thought entered our mind from the past that filled us with regret or feelings of inadequacy that is affecting our mood now.

If you pay close attention you will find that most negative mindsets come from thoughts from our past (or fear of the future), seldom is it the present, and even it if occurs in the present, it is often due to thoughts and comparisons to our past. That is why mindfulness is so important and can be so helpful to us in focusing on now – the present. It isn’t easy stuff to let go of the past and it takes focused thought (mindful thought) to stay in the present.

He has forty plus years of leadership experience in the business and faith-based worlds, being an ordained minister, having been elected to the highest position in his denomination, and receiving numerous awards and recognition for his leadership in the insurance industry. He currently serves on numerous boards in the church and insurance sectors. His hobbies include hiking, biking, skiing and snowshoeing as well as being an avid reader. David and his wife, Sharon, have three daughters, a son, and four grandchildren.

MAX Insurance Teams with Oakwood Insurance to Support Pinewood PTA Holiday Shopping Night

COON RAPIDS, MN — You’ve never seen bargains like what you’ll see at the Pinewood PTA Holiday Shopping Night, and it’s all for a great cause.

Rebecca Darlington of Oakwood Insurance Agency and Secretary of the Pinewood PTA puts all of her couponing and bargain shopping skills to work each Christmas season acquiring a huge inventory of items that children at the school can purchase as gifts for their parents, siblings and other family members. Her partner insurance provider, MAX Insurance, recently made a sizable contribution to their unique program.

“Many of our children come from financially challenged families,” Darlington said. “This holiday shopping event gives them a chance to purchase a nice gift for a loved one at a very low price. This allows them to enjoy the spirit of giving while helping enhance their own feelings of self-worth and accomplishment. It’s a great program that really makes the holidays special for everyone.”

“We ran out of gift items last year, so this extra contribution from MAX will go a long-way in helping us make sure every child can purchase a special gift this year,” Darlington said. “I’d like to thank MAX and all the other companies and people in the community who are helping make this event possible.”
