Volunteer firefighters in Rutland, OH have some new equipment to make their jobs safer, thanks to a recent $5,000 grant from Sherman Insurance in Ansonia and their partner MutualAid eXchange (“MAX”).
David Sherman heads Sherman Insurance. He reached out to the Rutland Volunteer Fire Department after learning about the MAX Community Grant Program. “I’ve been the department’s insurance agent for years, and I know how hard these guys work and how committed they are to the safety of their community,” Sherman said. “This grant will help them be safer and let them know how much we appreciate their service.”
The grant will help purchase a pressure tester for their hoses and a set of bunker pants and boots.
