Job Posting: Remote Inside Property & Casualty Claims Adjuster

MAX is seeking to add an Inside Property & Casualty adjuster to our Claims Department. This position holds an important role in providing WOW service and support to our insureds, agents and vendors.
Position Specific Responsibilities
- Complete thorough investigations and document facts on property and casualty claims
- Work with our policyholders to ensure claims are resolved in a timely, prompt, fair and courteous way
- Evaluate, negotiate, reserve, and settle claims within authority levels and per department requirements and policyholder expectations
- Review policy forms and explain coverage to policyholders and third parties
- Monitor vendors, independent adjusters, and attorneys to ensure service quality
- Ability to review property damage estimates for accuracy
- Process large volume of claims during busy times within a collaborative team environment
- Work directly with attorneys and management in defense of lawsuits
- Research and maintain accurate claims handling practices per state guidelines
- Work within a team environment to continually improve processes and efficiencies to meet department and company goals
- Perform other duties as directed
Skill Requirements
- 3+ years of claims adjusting experience
- Associates degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Home State Adjuster’s License (if required) valid and in good standing
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
- Strong analytical skills to make sound decisions with documentation
- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a cohesive team
- Proficient in communication, relationship building, analytical thinking, customer focus, accountability and quality of work product
- Ability to maintain quality work product and professionalism, especially during times of high claims volume
- Good organizational skills to manage workload effectively
- Excellent negotiation and analytical skills for use with policyholders and legal representatives
- Excellent customer service and time management skills
- Ability to empathize with people during difficult times
- Knowledge of Homeowners and Farmowners policies and claims procedures
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs, including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Xactimate knowledge preferred
