Oakwood Insurance Agency Recognized with Community Service Award from MAX Insurance®

(COON RAPIDS, MN) – Oakwood Insurance Agency of Coon Rapids, MN has earned the Community Service Award from insurance carrier MutualAid eXchange (“MAX”). Bruce and Darlene Sogn are heads of the agency. Earlier this year, they and their team participated in the MAX Agent Community Grant Program, where they chose Haven for Heroes to be a recipient. Haven for Heroes has undertaken the renovation of the old State Hospital buildings, converting them to temporary housing for homeless veterans in Anoka. A $2,000 grant was given to help with the renovations.

Oakwood Insurance Agency and MAX Insurance® Donate to Haven for Heroes

(ANOKA, MN) – Haven for Heroes has undertaken the renovation of the old State Hospital buildings, converting them to temporary housing for homeless veterans in Anoka. Oakwood Insurance Agency and their partner MutualAid eXchange (“MAX”), recently gave a $2,000 grant to help with the renovations.

After learning about the MAX Agent Community Grant Program, they and their team chose the Haven for Heroes to be a recipient. “The renovations are a huge undertaking and are primarily supported through volunteer labor and services,” Sogn said. “Our agency is excited to give back to our veterans who have given so much to us.”

MAX Insurance Teams with Oakwood Insurance to Support Pinewood PTA Holiday Shopping Night

COON RAPIDS, MN — You’ve never seen bargains like what you’ll see at the Pinewood PTA Holiday Shopping Night, and it’s all for a great cause.

Rebecca Darlington of Oakwood Insurance Agency and Secretary of the Pinewood PTA puts all of her couponing and bargain shopping skills to work each Christmas season acquiring a huge inventory of items that children at the school can purchase as gifts for their parents, siblings and other family members. Her partner insurance provider, MAX Insurance, recently made a sizable contribution to their unique program.

“Many of our children come from financially challenged families,” Darlington said. “This holiday shopping event gives them a chance to purchase a nice gift for a loved one at a very low price. This allows them to enjoy the spirit of giving while helping enhance their own feelings of self-worth and accomplishment. It’s a great program that really makes the holidays special for everyone.”

“We ran out of gift items last year, so this extra contribution from MAX will go a long-way in helping us make sure every child can purchase a special gift this year,” Darlington said. “I’d like to thank MAX and all the other companies and people in the community who are helping make this event possible.”
