Town & Country Insurance and MAX Insurance® Provide Grant to Pierce Historical Society

(PIERCE, NE) – Town & Country Insurance is proud to support Pierce Historical Society and this year they are excited to partner with MAX Insurance® in giving a $500 grant.  In March of 2019, the Pierce Historical Society Museum suffered flood damage.  They had 18 inches of water in the main building and most of their display cases were not salvageable.  The Society is slowly working at putting the displays back together and are looking for individuals or businesses to sponsor the new display cases that are being built.  This grant and an additional $250 gift from Town & Country Insurance will help purchase a new display case for the Society.

Chuck Micek manages Town & Country Insurance in Pierce.  After learning about the MAX Agent Community Grant Program, he and his team applied for Pierce Historical Society to be a recipient.  “Several of our employees volunteer their time on one Sunday a year in the summer to be hosts at the museum.  In addition, we have an employee who is on the board and has spent several hours helping stage the new displays,” Chuck said.  “We are pleased to partner with MAX and its community grant program to make this gift possible as well as adding $250 to the cause.”

Town & Country Insurance is an independent insurance agency representing MAX Insurance® in Pierce and surrounding areas.  MAX Insurance®, based in Overland Park, KS, is a unique fair, faithful and socially responsible insurance enterprise.  Founded on religious principles, the company’s mission is to restore wholeness to communities and individuals in need.  It lives out its mission through a variety of quality, fairly-priced insurance products, outstanding personalized customer service, and its unique Mutual Aid Ministries program.

MAX Mindfulness: What Rocks are we Throwing?

by Dave Wine, President & CEO

I’m still a ‘boy’ at heart.  I still love throwing rocks into lakes, rivers, and ponds.  I love to try and make the biggest splash possible and then watching the ripples move outward.  The fun part now is that I can throw much bigger rocks than my grandkids can and so I get their “wows” and look really strong!  Right now they think that is cool!  (Soon, they will be stronger than me and will show me up!)

Just as the size and type of rocks I throw create different ripples, so what we throw into our pond of awareness (life) creates different outcomes in our lives.  That’s another way of saying we experience what we think.  So something that is meaningful to me is asking each day what stones I want to throw into my pond today.  Am I committed to throwing stones of unconditional love, peace, forgiveness, wholeness?   Or will I throw more jagged and damaging stones (thoughts)?  It is my choice.

If you watch ripples they continue in one direction until they reach something solid and then the ripples reverse and come back to where they first occurred.  That’s true in our lives as well. What we ‘throw’ - the ripples we create - come back to us.  If we choose thoughts of love, goodwill, and forgiveness; those same things will find their way back to us.  If we choose attack, anger, or judgment those will be our return ripples.  The universe is extremely fair - we get what we throw (or reap what we sow).

I love to throw rocks.  As I get older, I realize choosing the right rocks to throw creates the best effect in ponds and in my life!  And that creates wholeness in my life and in others' lives as well.

Jobes Insurance Agency and MAX Insurance® Provide Grant to 4-H Program at Knox County Fair

(MOUNT VERNON, OH) – The Jobes Insurance Agency of Mount Vernon has been a long-time supporter of 4-H and the Knox County Fair.  The past four years Jobes Insurance Agency partnered with MutualAid eXchange (“MAX”) Insurance to support the 4-H program.  With a grant from MAX and their own contribution, Jobes purchases as many of the 4-H projects as they can.

Ashley White heads the agency.  “We love supporting the 4-H program at the Knox County Fair each year,” Ashley said.  “This grant will help support our youth with learning experiences and hands-on projects. They learn responsibility by working and taking care of an animal while managing money for feed and supplies. They gain friendships, knowledge, and guidance to help them become the young professionals we will one day need. Our agency is pleased to partner with MAX Insurance® and its Agent Community Grant program to make this gift possible.”

MAX Team Member uses Volunteer Time by Participating in Storm Cleanup

Last week John Wearda, MAX Regional Sales Manager, participated in a volunteer cleanup following the derecho storm that pummeled Iowa on August 10th.  John's contact was Christine Oshel, a former classmate who lives in Cedar Rapids and a member of King of Kings Trinity Lutheran Church.  Their church has a Disaster Relief Team, a group of volunteers who respond in times of crisis.

John wrote the following:

Here it is 8 days after the devastating storm and over 30,000 are still without power.  We know from news reports and the pictures shared on social media that the winds from that day caused never before seen damage and destruction.  What impressed upon me was the expanse of the damage…  It just goes on and on.  Street after street after street has mountains of brush, rubble, and garbage stacked along the roadways, waiting to be hauled away.  So much is left to clean up, so many without the resources to do so.  It’s heartbreaking.

Volunteers and donations are needed and greatly appreciated.
